Turkey Rod Run Question

I'd like to go to this years event. Having never been there though, I have some questions. I know it goes on during Thanksgiving weekend but where is the main event held? Are the hotel/motel rates decent then or do they jack them up? Any other info would be appreciated.
Thanks

What's that old saying?

"Most people don't plan to fail. They just fail to plan."

The main event is held at Daytona speedway.Minor shows all around town. The hotels do sell out and rates are higher but not outragous like Mardis Gras or Superbowl.A few months ahead should be OK.

Try posting in the Road Race section on NLOC (www.nloc.org) .. Ruslow will probably have some pointers for you!

Just a heads up. I coach Junior High football and every year, we travel to Daytona for the National Youth Championships. This is over Thanksgiving and brings in about 80 football teams and another 50-70 cheerleading squads. The company that sponsors this uses a number of the hotels along the beach and they fill up quick.

I took my 66 Mustang down one year so I could enjoy everything, but had to fight to keep some of the younger fans away. My teams stays at the Adams Mark. Nice hotel, but not much parking and always full of football teams.

Thanks for the heads up and other info. I just ran it by the OL and she's up for it.

I'll be down there 1st of March for Bike Week. I'll secure a room for the rod run while I'm there.
