Question Anybody using Royal Purple motor oil

I was hoping to get some input on Royal purple motor oil. It is a little cheaper than Red Line motor oil. At least in my area. I am at 9000 miles. I am thinling about switching to a synthetic oil. Any imput would be appreciated. Thanks. Bob

yup i do

I run it in my L and ran it in my 95 Trans Am. I've read many articles though saying not to run synthetic oils till about 10-15,000 miles. You want to give the internals proper time to get worn in. Hold off on the synthetics a bit more.

On the Royal Purple, I like, smoothes out the ideal a bit.

Just my $.02

I run the "racing 21" royal purple in my Lightning and the 5w-30 royal purple in the Expedition. The 21 is about $9.00 a quart! It has the viscosity of 5w-30 oil.
Most people wont spend that much on oil, but my baby only gets the best. The reg. 5w-30 is $4-5 a quart. Ive been using it for about 2 years now and havent had any problems. The engines do run quieter and smoother and you will also notice a slight power increase. In my opinion its great oil and I would be hard pressed to use anything else. The only other oil I would consider is the Valvoline synthetic, Ive used it in the past with good results. Everything I put the Mobil 1 in, gas mileage went to s***! Hope this helps ya!

Thumbs up

I have been running the Racing 11 (5W-20) since 6000 miles with no problems. Also $9 a quart, but it's worth it to me.

Guys, I have 18,000 miles--14,000 of which have been with Royal Purple #11 Racing oil(5W20). Get it from Jeg's catalog/web site for $7.99/qt.--if you get 12, it's free shipping.
