Yes the Blue batteries are made for a marine applications. The main differance is that the blue top has a extra terminal on the top to run accesories that can not be shut off with a battery switch.

I run two Blue batteries on my boat, and they are about $50.00 more than the yellow top. In my boat I power the bildge pump, and the anti corosion system off the 2nd terminals.Becides those two systems I shut all other possible power draws off with a battery switch.

Someone had to remind me of the battery and electrical nightmares of owning a boat! This was my first year w/o a boat and there were times that I missed it and times that I remember all the upkeep.
