Next, Sleeper Lightnings!

I found this over on the SHM web site and thought it would be of interest to the Lightning crowd. Shm has a 4 valve Lightning motor, the price is $14,500. Here is the picture

$14,000 for a motor without Supercharger or instake seems a bit high

Cool

I am trying to figure out what you would have to do to the processor and chip to get that thing to run properly. It probably gets lousy gas milage too!

I know someone that spent bookoo bucks for a 4v 4.6 SHM motor. It took forever to get it so it would go down the track, and when it did, it was slow slow slow.. SHM would not retun phone calls and basically blew them off...

SHM claims 515-525 rwhp with an aftermarket pulley. but they said nothing to be about torque

Actually, a 4V engine gets slightly better milage than a 2V, around town because of the metering plates between the heads and the intake. They have 2 "butterflies" for each cylinder.Under 3200 rpms the work off the primary port and when you stomp on it(over 3200) the secondary port opens for added air and fuel. Sort of like a 4 bl. carb. Cobras have this set-up as well.Tuning for a blown 4V must be tricky, I would think, though properly done would bring great results, considering correct camshaft profiles and a stronger bottom end.

Yeah, a setup that used this efficiently would be great, but people commonly remove these on race motors.
