Hit By F*&#ing Drunk Driver Last Night!
No, not in the Lightning thank God. Wasn't actually hit by the drunk driver, but the car that was hit got slammed into me. Nice way to start the holidays.
Was stopped at a light in the family vault (aka, our Denali) with the whole family on board, wife, 4 and 2 year old, when "WHUMP", the car behind gets hit and then "CRUNCH" it slams into our back bumper.
Do the usual, Put it in Park and hit the flashers and get out to see what's going on. Driver behind me is out of his car and wandering around sort of aimlessly on a very busy expressway. Grab him and suggest he sit in his car. He's complaining of dizziness and feeling very shaky. The woman who started the mess is quite concerned with the front of her Blazer. Has a very strange and distant stare. Uh huh. What have we got here? Suggests that the roads were very slippery and couldn't stop in time (Not slippery, and we were stationary for quite some time)
Long story short, he gets an ambulance trip, she gets cuffed and hauled away. Minor damage to the Denali (gotta love trailer hitches) but we were at the scene the longest, describing the event. Nobody in my vehicle has any injuries, thankfully.
I have one thing to say though. IF YOU HAVE TO DRINK, PLEASE DON'T DRIVE!! It really takes the fun out of driving for the rest of us.
Have a Merry Christmas everybody!!

OH NO!!!!! Im glad everyone is ok...that is the main thing. Sorry to hear about the Denali? Any dents, scratches? Damage est? I absolutely love those Denali's. My friend has one on chrome 20's...talk about attention. The front grilles are the best I have ever seen. At 50,000 dollars, I would have rather had my L hit. Sorry to hear about it man. Take care and happy holidays.

Dumb *** drinking drivers stay home! Had a similar thing happen to a buddy and I one night. I was a passenger in his Explorer that got rearended by a drunk. We were stopped at a light he hit us at 30-40 didn't even touch his brakes. His gran Prix was totalled but he still was trying to start it and drive away. Needless to say we "detained" him until the Police came.
didn't you have an incident in the Denali last year also?
Glad you and your family are ok.

Hit a drunk driver.
Another reason you shouldnt drive drunk is that you might get hit.
Me and my friends were driving down the road 2 years ago, in his 1999 eddie bauer expedition 4x4 about 3 in the afternoon.
2 months before this he got a speeding ticket 80 in a 55 on the interstate.
he was driving on a suspended license.
well he got tires of looking at his truck sitting in the drive and his parents were gone so he came by to pick me up.
any way we saw a car full of girls and started talking to them.
well we were doing about 40 and he was not paying attention.
the light had turned red and the car in front of us had stopped. it was an impala SS about a 96-97 model. he has a brush guard on the front of his expy and it rammed the car through the red light.
the back was all pushed into the rear seat.
noone else was around except for the girls.
the guy stumbles from the car with a beer in his hand and looks at the damage.
he was 3 sheets to the wind and he said "oh its not as bad as it looks. i can probably pull the dend out myself.
the car had to have been totaled. the back end was gone but it was driveable.
the expy had no damage to it except for the brushgaurd was a bit bent up.
the guy said "yall go on. there no since in the police getting involved and nothing is wrong with your truck.
we just looked at each other as the guy got back in his car and drove off.
we went to burger king afterwards with the girls and laughed about it.
he didnt drive again though till he got his license back.

glad to hear everyones o.k my trailer hitch has the longest extension you can buy sticking out the back of my suburban. you should see the paint marks from people trying to park to close behind me in mall parking lots!!!! I've even found skin from the odd guy cuting behind the truck @ not looking down, Ouch I know that hurts.Sean
Thank God
I'm also glad to hear you & your family are all safe & sound! You were luccjy not to sustain real damage too! Hope they take that driver's license away - FOREVER!
