Another reason why I think street racing is STUPID

Just because someone posts a 'kill' doesn't mean they were street racing. A lot of my 'kills' don't even involve speeding, and I don't post them anyway. But this board has a pretty realistic cross section of L owners, and covers the full spectrum of their typical behaviors. To think that someone who owns a L isn't going to engage in a little 'stoplight Gran Prix' is entirely naive. I very seldom back down from a little 'light to light' action...not really racing, but not letting the other person cut you off. That type of driving is the norm around here. I think most 'kills' evolve from this type of behavior, and that is where responsible people make a decision not to let the fun get out of hand. If you get drawn into a situation that involves going more than about 10 mph over the speed limit, or changing lanes multiple times, you are in danger of losing good judgement. Not being able to disengage the competive behavior when circumstances dictate danger then becomes street racing. The main focus of your behavior is beating the other person, with little regard for anyone's safety. On the other hand, the people who say 'just let them go, you'll just be one car later to work' don't really grasp the whole human behavior thing, and irritate me just as much as some immature drivers.
Organized street racing is a totally different animal, and I wholeheartedly despise it. These contests involve serious speeds, usually without any thought to safety, or even mortality.
If you really want to race, go to the track. This young man is really learning this the hard way.

Next you are going to tell me its Pac-Man's fault that obesity is the number one preventable disease in the US. Please.
Looks like we have alot of motherly types on this board!! Who here hasn't at on time or another gone over the speed limit or exercised a little show of power in their L. Don't tell me that those posted against street racing have never broken a trafic law.
"REAL MEN." only race at a track. "Please."
I'd hate to see what you base a real woman on. You have your opinion about street racing. Fine! But many of us good folk here have shared our experiences with smacking the competition around on the street. You don't like it! TOO BAD!! I race at the track and on the street, but im no hypocrite and I don't judge people here that do or don't race on the street. Judging is for a higher power. Not you.
You want to label or judge people go to another board.
This thread should be locked or removed because it is non-L related. There are more hypocrites in the world then there are Saints. That's what I think of those people getting on a board related to performance and racing and you start labeling and judging. " WHO ARE YOU, TO JUDGE ANYONE" on here?
Just my opinion. Merry Christmas to all.
