Headders.........and the 'proper' muffler(s)?

I am thinking about installing some long-tube headders this winter. My L is a daily driver that get's 1/4 miled too.

I want the 'power' an aftermarket muffler(s) would give along with the added boost my L has. But, I don't want a 'loud' sound at idle or at cruise. What muffler have you guys used that is both 'quiet' but allows the exhaust out with little restriction---or am I asking for too much ?

Hey Dan
I am getting the JDM long tube headers installed in the next week or two, I allready have a Magnaflow muffler. From what I have heard it is a awesome combo. Mine is also a daily driver.

I will let you know how I like the combo when I get the truck back

The county I live in is very strict on emissions. I'd like to know if I can retain the stock cats with the long tube headers from any of the vendors that sell them?

Odin's Wrath,

Check JDM..... I think his new long tubes use your existing cats or you can buy low restrictive cats from him.

Spark plugs/headders?

Anyone know if the plugs run 'cooler' with a scavenging headder and 'hotter' with the stock exhaust manifold? Or, is it the other way around?
