Noise a lil different than the rest

Ok I too have a 2000, lower blower pulley, Superchip, and i have a pro-m. I read that most ppl who are having the rattling noise is at idle then it clears up...well mine starts off with the rattle till the engine warms up just idling in park. then as you are driving there is no rattle till you give it more throttle, then the rattle comes back.

Is this the same thing or something differnt altogether. I have had a small rattle from my exhaust for awhile so I am not sure if its that or in the engine. The gf says she thinks it is coming from upfront near the nose of the truck

Thanks!!

Eric

Eric, Welcome to our club! It sounds very much the same as the noise we have all been refering to after the first oil change. What oil are you using.Brand/Viscosity?

It sounds like pinging or minor detonation to me, try putting the stock MAF meter back on and drive it again.

thanks for the replys. I really dont believe it has anything to do with the oil since I have been runnng Mobil 1 synthetic since the truck had 500 miles on it. The noise was there way back then. As far as detonation, I thought about this as well and it might be that but the nosie was there while the Pro-M was off and before the chip, so I am not thinking it is that

Thanks again tho!!

Eric
