Talking Check out my new hot rod!!!

I should say winter hot rod. My truck is gonna be parked for most of the winter, except for those rare days when the roads are free of snow & salt. I cant go without driving the truck for 4 months, it's torture.

I just picked up my winter vehicle today as well. A 91 Honda Civic hatchback. Has a lot of miles on it, but runs like a top. You definitely won't see me ricing this out.

be careful with the "second car" theory. a guy at work bought a mid '80's eagle to drive in the summer to save gas and miles on his expedition (same theory, different seasons) and now we call it the $6 million car because it was always in the shop this summer.

I don't have pictures to post of my winter vehicle, buy I think most of you N.E. guys have seen it at one point or another. Like I'm gonna tell the judge when he asks in court in a few weeks when I go to challenge my ticket: its just your basic, standard cab, short bed, two-wheel drive, pickup truck- hell, the only "option" I got to choose was the color! (silver). I mean granted, it'll do a high 12 second quarter mile (judge: "is that good?"), and handle better than a lot of "sports cars"...but, it is just a truck.

45,500 miles and counting...

Later...

GK

PS- Probie, I'll race you around January/February (haha...jk)

Thumbs up

Always had a "beater" in IL for the winter. It was fun to see how dirty it could get. Only clean the windows for months at a time. To hard to try to keep anything clean back there. Good investment probie.

I had a Mercury Topaz/Ford Tempo as a car while in college...It was a MONEY PIT...I'll be damned if every frigging part on that car didn't break. It was a 1992, which apparently is a lemon year in consumer reports...so pray you don't have a 92. All other years were okay.

Did you know in 1990-1992 it came in AWD?

i just gotta say this,, i once drove a blue tempo,,, 92 to be exact and you know what, those things are tough to kill if you ask me. i once smashed into some lady in a new grand cherokee and freakin totaled the thing,,, everyone was ok and my car ended up on someone's front lawn,, but you know what,, i drove it home, not even a radiator leak, i was going about 25 when i smashed into her. That just goes to show you though, don't run red lights unless you have good ole pos to destroy,,, i wish it was a chevy that ran the light though

That statement holds true for the 85 Tempo I used to drive! Man if it wasn't one thing or another on that car! I'm glad I don't have to put my truck away for the winter. The worst we see here is a little rain!

This winter I get to drive around an '83 GMC Sierra. I love it, I just put some 31x10.5x15's on it so i'm ready! It's an awesome truck though 50k original miles and it's in mint condition.
