Question Another Boost dump Question

Ok I unpluged the pink vaccum line and blocked it off.I heard that unplugging the electric plug will show a check light..Now that I did this it seemed to work however the blower seems louder..Did I do the right thing and is this normal?..Thanks

No, you do not want to do it that way. Disconnecting the pink line keeps the by pass closed full time and will build up excessive heat.

Unplugging the electircal plug does not set of the check engine light. It sets a code, but no light. You can clear the code with a battery reset. Hope this helps.

Thumbs up

Unplugging the electrical plug will not cause the check engine light to come on unless you unplug and replug it about three times, then the check engine light will come on and stay. You can reset it like SAL said if it does come on.

When the by pass solenoid is not activated, vacuum flows through it as if it were not there. So the by pass works as normal. When the PCM command the boost cut off, it stops the flow and the by pass will not close, which means you won't build boost. By unplugging the solenoid, you are just taking away the PCMs ability to cut boost.
