SUBARU WRX vs L
SUBARU WRX vs L
My brother is thinking of buying a Subaru WRX? Because the L was too much insurance.
He claims that stock for stock the Subaru will beat the L in 0-60
because of the all wheel drive. I told him that he was crazy.
I told him I would ask the L owners for there honest opinion?
He also claims after he tweeks his Subaru with a bigger turbo, bigger intercooler, chip, aftermarket exhaust and GOGO JUICE he will spank a Lightning and STANG GT in the 1/4 mile.

Who cares about 0-60 anyway?

He is talking about an awful EXTENSIVE amount of mods there.
You could make a civic beat a Porsche if you dump enough money into it....
You guys are avoiding the question ?
I really dont want to hear about who cares 0-60 and I dont want to hear about the weather or insurance rates or jet engines!
stock vs stock 0-60 who would win ? I am trying to prove my brother is wrong.
Are there any L owners with an honest answer. NO wise jokes.
I have a 100 bet with my brother.
From the looks of it the Subaru would win in a 0-60

Well honestly it's going to be up to the driver to win in this instance, stock for stock. It will be close.

If you go by what most magazines say.........it's still a toss up!!!
STOCK FOR STOCK:
Most Lightning 0-60's get 5.4 - 5.8 secs.
The WRX is even more spaced out. I've seen 5.2 to 6.1.
It all depends on the driver my good friend! Those AWD 1/4 milers can help you or hurt you depending on your skills......
so, it depends which magazine you read as to who is getting $100

You bet $100 and are basing the fact of which is faster on what we say here?
That doesn't make sense.
Only way to know for sure is to get a L and a WRX, both stock, and race them.
Of course...how do you plan on measuring the 0-60 time exactly?
Oh...you also need to relaaaaxxx....you need to get your panties unbunched and realize that most everyone on this board is a wiseass from time to time.

First of all I am relax. I think you are the one that needs to chill
I am trying to get an honest answer. not try to hear 3rd grade wise cracks
We were basing the info on two things if you must know ! Magazines and what L owners have experienced.
You measure 0-60 with a G-tech.
I think Miamiwhitesvt is correct
The only way to get the answer is to get a Subaru and L stock and have the same driver tested it.
I've raced a WRX before and beat him bad. To drive an small displacement AWD turbo fast out of the hole (porsche, mitsu, wrx, all the same) you have to rev the hell out it and dump the clutch. Mot many owners want to do that to their cars.
If some serious work is done to the WRX it will leave our 'L behind no doubt about it. Turbos can produce tons of power.
Even though we have the cubic inches and most everybody knocks the "ricers" just be careful. Some of these guys run mid 9s and low 10s and no they are not stock and street legal to boot.
