OK, I looked up and ran the numbers for your L and the T/A. I bet $5000 on the T/A to win. Of course shiit happens and you just might smoke the T/A with some luck.

Personally, I would pass on this one. I have raced Tundra MANY times in the past few years. At one time I ws stock and he was stock. 9 out of 10 times I would win. But he did win a few times. I'd say with even drivers, the F-bod will out run a L. But both are close enough in performance that driver skill has a little play too. Tundra seems to be able to launch better than me so I usually have to play catch up. By about 90 I'm usually passing him and easily pulling away, which is still short of an actual 1/4 seeing I usually run 1/4 at about 105 when I was stock.

And seeing he's willing to wager 5k on it, I'd assume he really knows how to drive his car. So best to save your money for a later date. Or like some have said. If you have 5k to waste. Put 5k in mods to the L, whoop his ***, and then break even when he pays up.

Thumbs down trans am

I love my 2002 L, I also have a 2001 Trans Am that I love.
The Lighnings have higher HP and Tq #s, but the Trans Ams are
about 15% under rated. plus the T/A is about 800 to 900 lbs lighter. My T/A gets away from my L really bad. Both are stock

Greg00SS...

Hey man, very nice set of wheels you have!! I know this is an F150 site, but hey. I have owned both, sold the camaro, bought the F150 and looking for a 97 or newer Z.

Later, Matt

P.S. Chevy really sucks now that they have said farewell to the F-Body. All though, the other day I was setting up a 2002 Chevy Impala for a police department and the chief said he heard a rumor that they are going to make a RWD V8 Impala again!! Who knows if it is true?!

That seems to be a canned idea...........They were supposed to be putting in a 305 in the Impala and Monte Carlo SS, but that's gone............doesn't look like it's gonna happen.

They should at least supercharge the 3.8 same as the Grand Prix GTP.......but oh well............we'll see what they do, if anything!
