Talking Radar Jammer Works HEHE

Hey guys last week i was reading a post over on the NLOC about radar jammers. So in that post someone posted a link to www.radarjammers.com so i figured i would check them out and see what they cost. Well i got a valentine 1 radar detector already and has to be the best radar detector ive had and havent gotten a ticket since having it. On that site they have for $250 the detector/jammer combo or for $150 they got just the jammer. So after reading it i said why not and got it they were having a 100 bucks off for a holiday special and i figured with my cousin being a county cop where i live i could test it out and see if it works if it doesnt i can send it back. So last nite at around midnite my cousin was working the highway so he called me up and told me where he was so that i could try the jammer. My cousin told me to wait till there was no traffic coming then come fast so that he knows its me and can get my speed. Well there was some one else in front of me a couple hundred feet and my cousin picked him up doing like 38 then he saw me coming and could tell that i was comign fast but it wasnt picking me up it still read the 38 from when that guy passed. Then he said when i got real close it picked me up for a second saying like 67 then the speed was gone and he said it was to late to get me if he was to pull me over because i was gone already. So for anyone wondering the jammers work. In the directions for it it says that you have to adjust your speed when close to a cop shooting radar because they will pick you up when close. But thats alright because with my valentine 1 i would have picked my cousin up long before i got within the range where the jammer would work so i would have adjusted my speed. So i would tell anyone that was wondering that they work great and if you dont have a good radar detector now then i would go with the jammer/detector combo. Another thing is that the jammer comes with a ticket rebate good for a year so if you get a ticket they will pay it for you.

It's called "punch-thru" and yes jammers work. A buddy I work with has one and I've seen it jam the radar units that are set-up beside the road telling you your speed. It flat out blanks them until you get fairly close at which point the radar strength of the lower speed (longer wavelength) is read. It basically reads the radar signal, scrambles it with a higher frequency corresponding to a higher vehicle speed (various wavelengths) and "bounces" it back. It works... soemhow. I've ridden with him on the interstate and seen a State Trooper hit him with X band, then K band, then Ka band and when we rode by he was smacking the radar unit.

I believe jammers are illegal (though detectors are legal in CA). The reasons are that detectors are simply radios set to receive a certain wavelength, while jammers are broadcasting radio waves without a FCC license.

First Time

This is the first time I have ever heard of them working. Wish I could find the link to detectors/jammers I read a while back[will try to find] and they said jammers are junk. Hope we get alot more feedback on this as I'm game if it's really true.

Motor Trend did a test on all the jammers, and basically said the same thing. they were able to nail the speeding cars "at will"

Maybe I should restate my previous post to say "some jammers work". My buddy has had his for ~6years now. Maybe this was before legislation cracked down on the jammers?

Is there any reason why you people can't just slow your asses down? My insurance rates suck because of you.

Really, what is so hard about obeying the law a little?

I've had a phazar for a few years. I believe that they work from experience. People will have their own opinions though...

Until you wreck, which raises the statistics. The insurance sees that males are poor drivers because they drive exessively fast. Since they have to stay in business, they charge everyone equally at a base level, and the person with a proven poor record gets a higher increase.

And I don't want to hear any "But I am a good driver" bull, because it doesn't matter. If I get rear ended by a dumb *** drunk driver, my insurance goes up, whether it is my fault or not, and not dependent on my current "spotless" driving record.

I honestly do not see why everyone has to act like the world is going to come to an end if they don't make it home from work 5 minutes sooner.
