I would get a better insurance company because if you get raised because you get rearended from behind from a drunk driver then your insurance company $UCKS. Anyone knows that if you get hit from behind then you arent at fault because the person behind is supposed to be in control of the car. I was in and accident where i t-boned a lady who made an illegal turn over double yellow lines and she was at fault and my rates never went up. So i would switch insurance companys or you dont know what you are talking about. Also i live in NJ where insurance is the highest in the country and mine didnt go up since i wasnt at fault for the accident. So i dont know what you are talking about.

Maybe you need to get around the way your handle shows instead of giving us greif!

So I can defend myself a little, I will only make this last one, so you can get back to the topic.

The insurance thing might be from place to place.

No, I didn't get my handle from driving on the sidewalk

I also build fast cars to go fast, but I do it on the track.

I am one of the few that can recognize the fact that sometimes (most the time) I am the slow one on the street, and go over to the right.

Someone needs to teach morality. Parents, teachers and social leaders sure do a crappy job.

Cool

The only radar jammer that works:

http://www.remotesystems.com/

They will only sell plans, you must assemble it yourself. Average cost of parts is in the neighborhood of $1200-1500.

It will jame X and K signals, but no Ka transmitters are powerful enough to be cost effective yet. Any other jammers (short of Lidar jammers, different stufF), is smoke and mirrors.

And I don't want to hear any "But I am a good driver" bull, because it doesn't matter. If I get rear ended by a dumb *** drunk driver, my insurance goes up, whether it is my fault or not, and not dependent on my current "spotless" driving record.

I honestly do not see why everyone has to act like the world is going to come to an end if they don't make it home from work 5 minutes sooner.
You would speed too if the cops wouldnt hear your big tires before they saw you.
Besides... I think that 4x4 rollovers make my insurance go up...

BTW, Whats a Lidar Jammer?

I remember reading in a Popular Mechanics, some time ago, that for a jammer to work ( Like the military jammers work on enemy radar) it would have to put out enough microwaves, that if a home microwave had that much power, it could cook a turkey in 15 sec flat! But hey, if Vin says it happened, I believe him, or better yet I believe that he was told by his cousin, that they work.....wink-wink......like, tell all your buddies to buy them

The Phazer is good for distances, but anything closer and it will get you.

Thats the main difference. Punch-through on an active type jammer (like the 5446 or VCRD) is a much smaller difference that an passive unit. Passive units try to rely on phase variances, which make scrambling different...Of course, the wide variety of police radar units will make this vary as well. Some units will be baffled, others will punch through with no trouble.

Unfortunately, there is no 100% "stealth" capability. An active radar is best, but are difficult to find and expensive to build. A passive is better then nothing, but will not help at closer proximities with alot of standard radar hardware. None at all, is that.

Lidar is laser radar detectors, aka, laser guns. Lidar jammers are a reality, and there are 2 good ones out there that mount in the front of your car. "Reflective plates" are a joke for the most part, only active interference units work well. Escort sells a nice one in the Passport SRX kit. They get away with FCC restrictions because of the wavelengths that they operate in, though who knows how soon that will change.

Pawn...you seem to be up on this stuff, which way would you go for say under $700.00? The cops here are mostly bikers in the hoods[hand helds] and HP run the freeways.

Well, I'm sorry to say that my experience with the Jammer is not so good. Since I got it, I've been pulled over four times and got a ticket twice. I don't use it anymore, so if anyone wants it I'm selling.

KGM -- I've looked all over for a good solution, but unforunately there dosn't seem to be any. If you can track down a VCRD, they go for about $550, but they are _very_ hard to find (as they're not made anymore).

Without tracking down one of those the only choice is really just to get one of the best radar detectors you can: V1, Escort 8500, Bell 980...but they'res not much in the way of close-quaters jammers to get. I'm always keeping my eyes open though for new stuff. The Phantom RCD is supposed to be the sucessor to the VRCD, but since FCC restrictions, it isn't quite as powerful. I believe it goes for $499.

My cousin said we will do it one nite where i bring someone else with me to drive so i can sit in the cop car and see for myself hehe

Daniel
Just like you said and the directions said once you get close they wont work because of punch thru so adjust your speed. Thats why they suggest you use it with a radar detector or buy the one that is the jammer/detector. I didnt have my V1 detector when i tested it but i would have picked up my cousin way before i would have gotten to close where the jammer wouldnt work.

So after my test im happy to see that it worked. Just remeber that like they said there is no way to be completely invisibile you will have to adjust your speed when you see the cop or hear him on your detector. Even my cousin said even if you are jamming his radar and he cant pick you up and someone just came by doing 70 and he sees you going faster then he will go after you saying you were doing 70. So dont think you are invinciable with it just gives you a little better edge of not getting caught. But they do work after my test.
