You should get a Magnetic sign that says Spike Engineering that way they will know it is you.

I know what you are going through with rentals. I was in Florida recently I saw a Red Lightning going over the Sunshine Skyway. I tried to get his attention but he just looked at me Like who the hell are you, and are you nuts I tried to get him to pull over and say hi, but it didn't work

there are a few good looking Ls in my area that I have seen. Went down to Speedword and met Dave and another kid with a true blue Lightning. My truck ran a 13.8 completely stock..time to start working on that! But first this weekend I am installing two Rockford Fosgate 12'' power DVCs. Should be bangin. haha bye

I pulled along the side of a Black 2001 this morning on 101 south near Agoura Hills (about 5:45 am). I had my Spike Engineering "sign" today, but since it was a bit dark, I knew it wouldn't help.

The encounter was amusing. Here's how it went:
I pulled up on his driver's side in a Red Volkswagon Bug with my passenger window rolled down and honked.

Meep-Meep.
He looks in his rear view mirror.
I honk again.

Meep-Meep.
He looks in his rear view mirror again so I honk again.

Meep-Meep.
He looks in his rear view mirror again. I laughed.

I think I have seen Z28KLR on the 110 often going to San Pedro. I will be trading in my Black Tundra in for a 2002 Lightning in a few months.

 

Flame, I go to San Pedro all the time. I am driving back and forth from Studio City all the time.

If you see a silver L in san pedro or aroud 110/405 its probaly me. I drive it to school 4 days a week, I have a dyno tuned by SWANSON sticker on my back window.

 

Just going through the posts and found this thread. Sorry it took me so long to find it, I was busy shopping for ideas and prices. I just picked up my Black '02 L December 19, '01. I live in Agoura Hills and commute into San Bernardino when I am on shift. I take the 101 from Chesboro and head east about 5:30 am on those days. I have to cruise easy at those times, there are two motorcycle cops who commute at the same time.
It is tempting at that time because there is some open road to just go ahead and open up a little.

I try to stay cool.

I do remember a VW on the way to work the other day. I was trying to stay ahead and pass without going into heavy throttle, but this guy just kept hangin' in there. I thought to myself, damn, this VW has some guts cruisin' on the Freeway like a regular car, 70 mph in the slow lane.

I am ready to meet most anytime I am not out of town, buy some coffee or whatever and chat about Lightnings.
Try and give some dates, times and places, let's do it.
