Exclamation Anyone Interested in 2001 Speed Grilles

If anybody is interested in a Speed Grille for their 2001 Lightning, you should e-mail the manufacturer and put some pressure on them.

Their e-mail address is: info@streetsceneeq.com

Let them know that there is a demand for them and they WILL produce them. Why modify a grille for the incorrect year, when you can install the right grille for the truck. I have already sent them a couple e-mails this month and the more that are sent, the sooner it will be produced.

Once again, its: info@streetsceneeq.com

The grill openings on all 99-02 Lightnings are the same.

Silver-Bolt,

The grille openings are the same size but the grille insert of the 99-00, which the upper Speed Grille is designed to slide into, is larger that that of the 01-02 by a small amount. I know as I went through this exercise in futility on my 01 only to purchase a 99 grille surround and grille insert. In my opinion, the method of the upper Speed Grille insert mounting within and then covering the 99-00 insert doesn't look that good anyway. You can see the old honeycomb pattern behind the grille and especially the large portion where the Ford emblem mounts. I think it's a much cleaner look to remove the original grille insert altogether and then do some minor bending (mostly on the sides of the Speed Grille insert) and zip tie it to the tabs that the original grille mounted to. My grille is solidly in place and there is no trace of the older grille to be seen.

Gotch ya. Didn't realize they were just inserts. Thought they were stand alone grills. That sucks.

They sent me an e-mail back stating that they will have the grilles available for the 2001-2 Lightnings in March 2002, in silver or chrome.---Jim

I live a few blocks away from them and have offered them my truck as a test vehicle. They will be giving me a call towards the end of the month, early January. So I guess their estimation for March might be accurate. I just hope that the added interest the company has seen in the past couple days will get them moving a little faster!!!

Hello
I am looking for a new grill for my 2001 Lightning. A buddy of my has your grill on his '99 Lightning and it looks good. I was wandering if you have anything for the 2001 model? I have heard rumor that there is a difference between the 99-00 and the '01. Any help you can provide will be appreciated.

What a dilema... Which looks better?

Removal of the original grill certainly fits better by flattening the edges to fill the space, but you can see through when the light hits it just right.

Leaving the original grill causes you to see the honeycomb. Does anybody have a picture of that so we can compare?

Here's one to show what I'm talking about.
