I was looking at my L today. The rear end looks nice with the new tailights, but i think it could definately use some new lines, everything looks a bit rounded for how fast it goes. I was thinking it stands a bit tall too, i'm a tall guy and although i love the head room, i think it would look better if the cab weren't as tall. Thats just my opinion though, plus a new hood would look great, i can just buy one of those though. I've definately seen some nice looking hoods on this forum.

the '04 will have 3 valve heads and a 5R110W tranny. Should be over 400 HP and over 500 ft/lbs of torque.

Could the "LightningRod" that was making the car-shows be a preview of the next Lightning body style

The only thing I have heard was from a transmission calibrator from Detroit,,, he says the 3 valve motor makes more hp but the torque curve is higher in the powerband which isn't good for towing trailers. It would be the same direction that the new 5.3L chevy is compared to the old 5.7L. He said the truck will be based on more of a passenger vehicle than a commercial vehicle(lighter duty). That is probably why there is talk of offering this current body style as a "classic" to cover the commercial end of the market in 04. Just my opinion though.

the front end of that expy looks like its taking about the same look that dodge has this year, to me it looks bigger in the front, i'd say too bulky looking for an L

Auto shows coming up...

Hopefully, we will all know more in a few weeks after the LA and Detroit auto shows. If Ford is gonna redesign anything next year, I'm sure they'll show it at Detroit. Besides, I thought BlueOvalNews has said redesign was late next year as an '03 not an '04. Oh well

Boy I hope they keep it a flare/step sider. I have really come to love these lines and just hate that straight line side.

Rest of it looks great!

Believe factory tech. The entire F series will be redesigned for
04, and will more than likely be assembled in the "to be built"
assembley/paint shop in the Rouge complex (Dearborn). This
includes the Lightning.

i heard the 04's will include a "w" position on the gear selector. when engaged at full throttle, a computed generated voice will say : " Damn it Captain, if you keep this up, it'll blow for sure"
