installed jdm PCM and everything got weird!
ok
So I installed a jdm PCM today, the engine was pinging badly so I put some octane booster in (the outlaw and added the full 22gallons), so I was testing it out and I still hear the knocking, then vibrations bad. So I slow down, but no good, so I take out the chip (with the battery off) and now I know the engine is misfiring.
What the hell is wrong, it is a spark plug or what? i rather not take my car to the shop, i work a 8-430 job hard for me to take it in
please help me

first did you clean you contacts off good before installing the chip?
Next I'd say disconnect you battery and let the power drain so that the computer is forced to reset itself then see if the trucks still acts up.
If everything is normal, install the chip again and make sure it has good contacts. Then watch and listen like a hawk. Anything else go wrong give Jim a call to get it taken care of.

Like PFA said make sure you check where the wire harness screws ino the back of the Processor. Check to see if any of the connectors are bent, and also make sure it is connected properly.

detonation
How long did you run with the pinging sound going on? Did you back off or give it some more? If you ran it very hard or for very long like this you more than likely need some new plugs. You will be able to tell by looking at them when you pull them out. It was trying to tell you that its running to lean. The octane booster should have helped but it was probably to late. I would have mixed it heavy like one can and 8 to 10 gallons of gas. If you ran lean for to long your plugs will be burnt. Never keep running with a detonation problem back off and save the motor. Either get some good gas or have the chip richened up for the cool dense air.

Sounds like you burnt the electrode off the plug or plugs. Pull them out and check each one. Might as well swap out the platinums while you are doing it. Don't be surprised if your plugs have turned purple. The octane boost will discolor them.
i called up jdm tonight, found out i'm running the right program for my area (j69), he said the chip might have been just a little bit off, i had a bad tank of gas, or the chip was messed up.
so i'm taking the truck in to the dealer tomorrow to get new plugs in (because i don't want to pay for new better ones) and get the clunk in the control arm fixed too. when i get it home i'm going to install the chip again and jdm told me that if it still messed up then he is going to send me a loaner chip (thats really kick *** of him).
so everything is cool, plus i'm getting the clunk fixed which i've been meaning to do anyway
David
and thanks guys for the suggestions
