Talked to the dealer today. Want to take advantage of the 0% financing extension, but they don't expect their first L's until Feb/Mar. No 01's left, no 02 until it's too late. Sounds like the Mid-West/East is the only one's getting 02 L's so far. BUMMER.

 

Down here in Phoenix there are a few dealers getting them in already. None of the dealers will do the Xplan but Sanderson ford is getting one on Dec 6, Pioneer Ford is getting a 2002 Black in a couple of weeks, Five Star Ford is getting a couple in a few weeks.

 

I just can't understand this. Dealers in Phoenix don't discount the Lightning and most try to get above list, and they must succeed. Then I see posts back East where dealers just get a new one in and will honor X plan. I guess we must be stupid here in Phoenix because if people pay it, the dealer will hold firm on the price. Several months back I kept going to Five Star and they had 3 brand new 01's for about 3 months, they would not discount a penny. And then when Ford announced 0%, they moved all 3 in a couple of days for full list. Supply and demand I guess.

Pretty much same thing here. Allthough I do have a dealer that will do the x-plan but has no L's. I would have to order an 02 at x-plan and hope the interest stays low. I found one dealer a couple of weeks ago that had 2 01's but wouldn't take less than $5k over msrp. Supply and demand. Greedy B_stards.

 

I work for a DLR in Mesa,AZ.We got in our first '02 today.Black.It's a customer ordered unit though.We are expecting a few more before the end of the year.No A or X plans here,but no $1500 market adjustment/$599 alerm/$295 paint protection either.

 

Think I heard somewhere that AZ sells more trucks percapita than any other state. Held in much higher regard out West.

Just wondering, cause according to Ford, ANY vehicle including SVT's, is included in the "X" plan deal.

It is just up to the DEALER to decide whether or not they want to honor it...

Not flaming, just wondering, cause Berge basically screwed us out of a 2002 "L"...

I have NO respect for any of the Managers over there. Good sales people in general though...

 

DRKONE,Yeah that's my truck.Sorry to hear about your problem.I am a Finance MGR at Berge and if someone took an order on the premise of giving you X-Plan I apologize.Berge Ford has NEVER accepted A,X or D plans on SVT vehicles.I actually got permission once and ordered myself a BLK. '01,When it came in off the train it had a big scratch in the door so I backed out of the deal.I picked up my Silver '01 thru this board from "BRIMSTONE".Got a smokin' deal!It only had 1500 mi. on it and i pd. $26500[no tax]also it already had a chip & lower pulley to go with it.I know we have a Silver '01 coming in later this mo.I can't get you X-plan but if you still want it maybe I can work something out for you?Sorry again,-Dave.

 

A girlfriend of mine told me they have already sold a few of the '02 Ligthnings in San Diego. I dont think it gets more west than that.

Seems like Ford finally got it right, they have finally gotten control of their info leaks.

Remember when the users got updates on where their ordered Lightnings were at on the assembly line? No one even got a solid Job1 date.

If I was to get one, it was to be Silver, and I'm thinking the mods you have to yours are very close to what I had had in mind!

The Chrome rims on yours are a very nice touch!

Hopefully, one of these times, we will all meet up and I'll get to meet some of you guys...
