Question Who Hauls Stuff in Their Lightning?

Wondering who carries things in the truck bed? I havn't got a bed rug yet, so I have never put anything in the rear of the L. I had to get a new water heater last week & I had to call a buddy to borrow his SUV. He thought I was crazy for buying a truck, because I won't use it to haul S***
Sometimes I wonder even if I had a bedrug, would I still put stuff back there.

Wink

Ummmm....... 106 gallons of gasoline. I have a CDL with haz-mat & tanker endorsements, and am used to hauling 9000 gallons.

800 lbs. of 1/4" wall steel.

For track events, I put all four race tires, a floor jack plus other goodies in the rear. I've also hauled several thousand feet of lumber. Lay down a painters canvas and a small rack (at the rear) and all the lumber stays off the carpet.

I've also towed log splitters, cherry pickers, ditch witches, you name it. Since I tow stuff so often I leave the hitch on. Check out the photo:

I think I might add a sticker to the tailgate for the next track event. I'm not too sure how to word it, but I want it to say something like this:
"If you want better lap times, let me tow your car around the track!"

Way to go Rick !! I use mine like what it is... a truck.I've always have and years later it still looks as new as when I got it.Don't get me wrong, I love my L as much as the rest of the crowd. Its just a matter of being careful and keeping it clean ! Hell you can drive down the road with anything and catch debris like a loose hubcap, rocks from the back of a dump truck, etc..All it means is you have that much more care to put into it.

I was going to buy a 911 and a beater truck to haul my kayaks in, but L to the rescue. Haul whatever I want, its a truck 1st and a weapon 2nd. I had picnic baskets, tables & chairs when I dusted some poser vette on the straight then thru the twisties. Thought I was gonna lose a sandwich for a while. I'm not off-roading it, only because of the 45 series tires. If if had 60's I probably would. Its just a truck and thanks to Ford...they make a new one everyday.

Usually haul track tires and tools, however, I have hauled, mulch, a giant craftsman toolbox , and various other items. That is the big advantage the L has over the vette, there is room to take stuff with you.

That's a 'truck bed' back there? I thought it was just part of the aerodynamics SVT package!

Only 10lbs of groceries once or twice.....

All the time. Over a 1000 pounds of marble once.

Take it easy Tampa. Focus, it will be ok. It was only a bad dream.
