AT&T Broadband is not going to have service in my area anymore.
I wonder if it's related. The only problem now is that no one else offers high speed internet in this area either.

ole,

received the Dear John email yesterday and have been reading about it today. This sucks.

(rant on)
Gang:

Let's do some quick math shall we?

4.1 million customers paying $35 per month.

That's $143,000,000 per month.......

AND...(scribble... scribble...scribble) ...AH HA!

$1.722 BILLION per year.

Just for poopie and giggles, let's say Excite@Home snarfs $20 per account.

That is just shy of a BILLION dollars a year boys and girls.

Guess the Excite purchase wasn't so rosey after all.... bastards

If it pleases the court, we'd like the ability to cornhole up to four million of our customers. Thank you Your Honor.

RANT OFF

Dont get too excited about ATT buying the assets of the @ home network and keeping the network live..
ATT has bought QUITE a few struggling broadband companies and FEW have been saved from going dark... Many of the small DSL providers are examples. I think they just buy the assets to keep the potential competitors from getting them..

Newsflash

ATT may be getting out of Cable too
"The company has said it aims to decide by year's end whether to sell the No. 1 U.S. cable television company or proceed with its earlier plan to spin off the unit. "
