Thumbs up New From PSP

Power Surge Performance is pleased to announce the introduction of our new Gen 2 Lightning High Volume Fuel Pump Kits.

The kit comes with two fuel pumps, rated at 255 lph each, and installation kit (new pump filter socks, rubber pump sleeves, hoses, clamps, and tank seal gasket).

We recommend these kits for trucks using over 100hp shot of nitrous, and trucks running more than +4 psi of boost.

The kits are $300 each (only 1 kit required per truck) and we should be adding them to our web site for on line ordering sometime today. Just for referance, these are the same 255lph pumps that Mustang shops sell for $189 EACH!!

Do we need to change out our injectors/fuel rails also? If the fuel pump can't handle the HP how do the injectors?

No the injectors are 42lb's. they can handle the HP where putting out now. The stock pumps are 110lph.

Sal's coming up to the limit pretty soon with all the boost he makeing but he's also got a wet kit so the pumps will pump fuel to the nitrous nozzle and richin it up more.

I think these injectors are good to about 650 to 700 HP.

Sal:

"running more than 4lbs of boost"--you mean more than 4 lbs of boost over the stock 8 lbs--right

Speaking of...

Speaking of 4lbs of boost, when is the PSP 4lb pulley due for release?

Joe, they are not the same EXACT pumps as what you have, but they are both 255s. The ones in your set up are just an older version of them with a different sock filter.

Easter, both the injectors and the fuel rails are good for way more power than most people will make. We are offering the pumps, because we've had trucks that showed signs of needed more pump.

Dan, yes, more than 4 psi OVER stock .

2000Black, our 4 lbs pulleys are on the way to us right now. I expect them next week.

One more question. Does the stock fuel filter need to be upgraded with a bigger one?

No problem, it's a reasonable question. I just prefer Sal's products. Not knocking JL, I haven't even tried any of his stuff so I couldn't tell you anything about it. I am very happy with Sal's filter and chip setup (it has done wonders for my truck's performance). Besides my Lightning is a daily driver and 4lb's is about as aggressive as I want to go with it.

Sal--- Are these Walbor 255 intank pumps or 2 inline pumps that run in series or parellel??? Just curious, thats all....

For those out there, thats a great price on 2 255 pumps....The ones for our mustangs like he said run about 170 a piece....

Lastly, 42lbs injectors are good to about 550rwhp and even then its sort of pushing it....In the chip, the fuel tables would have to be modified to increase the pressure at idle, so while under boost, the fuel pressure is higher, causing the 42lbs injector to act like a bigger 55 or 65lbs injector....However, too much pressure, around 95psi or so of fuel, injectors tend to go static and they don't like 100% duty cycle either....I know I'm no Lightning Tuner, but I'm sure Sal can confirm what I've learned from doing Mustangs....

Don't forget, the N/A horsepower level that an injector can support is not the same as a Supercharged level....ON top of the rwhp numbers, you have to take into account that you are using approx. 50hp or so to turn that blower to 15lbs of boost, which takes away from the available fuel for RWHP numbers.....Just something to think about....

i really like the idea of 2 pumps versus one, with the power we're putting out, having a backup is always a good way to go.

I too, am curious about the install?
