That can be done with a chip from one of the many suppliers on here. I am not sure if all of them will burn chips for all vehicles, but most will.

TOP SPEED

TRADE IT IN ON A LIGHTNING AND YOU WONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT TOPPING OUT AT 100. I OPENED UP MY L. ON THE BELTWAY HERE IN HOUSTON AND HAD THE SPEEDOMETER PEGED AT 140. DONT KNOW HOW CORRECT THEY ARE AT THAT SPEED BUT IT WAS FUN!!!!! BUT THE FUN ENDED QUICK WHEN THE RADAR DETECTOR WENT OFF!

HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE!!!! KEEP ON TRUCKIN!

Dude

We want you to stay a member of the Lightning elite... 140 on the beltway is not how you do that....

Someplace that is level and open with no traffic maybe... but not the beltway.

I sound like a mother hen... Just dont want to hear about you on the news...

Heck, I buried my needle to the "N" before. I think that is about 148-150mph. That was when it was stock except for a Pro-M and K&N on a cold night. Now it can't even go 1mph unless I can get someone to help me push.LOL

The 01's speedo will not move past 142 by the needle. You have to go by RPM after that. 5000RPM is @155 AND 540rpm @ 170mph. I wish I had one that would wrap around I have run my GPS and buddy in his vette over 150 and she felt solid.

LBC150, the speed limiter is there due to the speed rating on the tires. If you change that you may also want to change the tires.

J.D.Blackwell, horsehockey, like L8 APEX said it stops climbing just past the 140 mark. Actually make the trip there sometime and you'll see. You can however use the digital speedo built into the odometer, I don't think that one stops. Gonna check one of these mornings.

Hey if you want to test out the top speed and get a accurate reading here's how. I learned this from a L owner.

When you start up you truck, hold in the trip odometer button. start the truck then and wait for the odometer to say test. when it says test let go. Now you can cycle threw the settings and find the one for the digital odometer. Our trucks have digital odometers if you do this and there very very accurate I guess.

I tried it out and I got my truck up to 156mph with a good tailwind. I ran out of road but I think it would have got 160 or so if I could have had more room. Pretty cool to try it our like that, and scary when you see that!!!!

RTKilla, I don't think all F150's have the digital odometer. BTW, if it does the setting is "ENG000.0" for the speedo.

I don't know about a regular F150 but the L's do and that trick works pretty good.. I never knew that until about a month ago.
