Silver/Mirror window tint?
Hey i was wondering if anyone had an L with silver/mirror window tint? Ive seen some cars and trucks with this special tint and i think it looks great...Especially since ive got a silver L...anyone know anything about it such as how well it works, and how illegal it is? Any help or comments would be great! thanks...
i posted the same thing a while back, and got no response. I think it would look soooo tight. And in MI, any tint on the side windows is illegal, including mirror
. I will get it anyways though. The only thing i was worried about is if it will look odd with the sides mirror, and the back limmo, cause the back window is already tinted.

I have Nickel tint on mine which is slightly reflective and is legal. The Nickel keeps the tint from fading..
Not sure if I have any good pics of the Tint but check out the website you should see one or 2

I asked up at Darkside Window Tinting, on 23 and Hayes, and he said he could do it. The only darkness he had was 35% though. What do you think it will look like with the sides mirror and the back limmo. I wish i could go mirrorall of the way around, but the darn back window is already tinted
it's illegal in Ca.. my buddy works for a tint shop and has to take it off a lot of peoples windows, it's really big in Hawaii, a lot of cars overt here have mirrior. Only problem is, is getting a hold of the stuff..
Silver tint looks good on the frost silver color, I had it on my 98 SVT Contour that was silver, the only reason I wouldnt put it on my L is that back window being factory black tint. I dont liek mismatch!!!

is there any way to take the tinting off of the back windows to put the mirror ones in? or is that too expensive or what? i just think it would look great all the way around...anyone have any pics of it on a vehicle?
I brought my truck to get the side windows tinted about nine months ago, and the guy that I had do it, who is also a "car" guy (read: he has a Hennessey Viper Venom), told me that it was illegal in MA. I think he said they can actually tow you on the spot- something about it being too reflective (i.e. glare from the sun)...but then again, I was too busy drooling over his Viper to really comprehend what he was saying.
I would have thought it would look pretty good on silver too (which is what I have), but he seemed to think otherwise...and since Mo Vaughn trusts this guy with his $100k+ vehicles, I trusted him too (but still don't fully believe him) and just went with "not quite limo" tint (which is still ill. in MA).
Another thing to consider too is that you could just apply the "nickel" (film) tint over the factory (chemical) tint. I know that John893 had his rear window tinted over and above what it came with from the factory (I opted not to so I can still see out of the rear window when I'm backing up without opening the slider), so I don't see any reason you couldn't do it with the nickel shizzy too.
If someone does get it done, or has pics of it (even on a non-L silver vehicle), could you post them there pics? Later...
