x plan update..

for those of you who were interested.. EAA registration for immediate benefit plan (ford benefit) ends on Nov 30..

you should get registered before then or else you have to wait 1 year to recieve X plan Pin numbers.

...

if your a registered member before Nov 30 of this year, then you are OK..

you can get your PIN numbers anytime you want.

only those who have not registered by Nov 30 - 2001, must wait an entire year as a member to get the PINs

not to be an *** but...

there are some people who might not know what signing up for EAA really does.. they just do it because its got a fancy name like 'x-plan'.. and cool james bond like words - 'pin numbers'

EAA stands for Experiment Aircraft Association. It is a group dedicated to the preservation of all types of aircraft from early byplanes, to the B-17, to exotic homebuilds and experiment private jets. They have a major flyin one a year in Oshkosh Wisconsion that last 10 days. It is a fine orgainization.

in a couple days you can either use the internet site, or call the EAA and they will give you your x-plan pin number(s)...

then u can go and save some thousands on your new L

Just did this a couple weeks ago, thanks to another heads-up here.

It all works as described: got the PIN # for the new Lightning this coming summer ;-)

Registered 3 months ago and the only email I received was my membership number. Have not received anything else since then.

Signed up last light and got a membership number today. I assume this is different from the PIN number we get for the X plan. Correct?
