That is correct...

In a day or so, try logging in to the site (members only or something like that). You will use your last name and the 6 digit PIN or membership # they just sent you via email. Then, after logging in successfully, you go to the partnership page and generate your X plan PIN. Piece of cake.

None really. It depends on what you call junk. Membership comes with a subscription to "Sport Aviation", montly I think. I sighned up for the email stuff. That's it.

Oh
And if you don't want to use the PIN #'s (2 per year I think) you can always give them to somebody. (Hell, try and sell 'em and get the $40 back).
BTW, how do you 'give' a PIN number?
????????

How many people sign up for this just for the Ford buying advantages? How many people are actually into aviation?

Just wondering, being as I am a member of the AOPA but not the eea, so I haven't used the x-plan. How much of a discount do you receive?

For the '01's it took the price from $32,460 sticker to $28.8k. Almost a $4k savings for spending $40.

Question

Well after lurking in this forum for a few months (and totally enjoying it ) and soon considering a L purchase, this thread finally made me register and ask a question or two regarding this thread.

1) living in Canada, I see EAA appears to allow Canadian membership. Is the x-plan valid in Canada? and particularly for an SVT product like the L?

2) anyone this side of the border purchase via x-plan and have any comment on their experience?

Thanks, Frank

Great forum!!! now back to lurking...kinda

I just registered about an hour ago. So since I registered before November 30, I still get the Pin # correct.

Also I don't have to get my pin # right away if I am not going to buy for a couple of months, correct?

Thanks.

Ok, as always, I have waited untill the last minute. I just signed up today, Nov 30th. The literature on their webpage still describes the x-plan as a membership perk, so even if they say that im too late, im hoping I can use that as leverage.

Thumbs up

Qksilvr & TruBlu02 - You are still covered. They say if you register "on or before November 30, 2001" you are qualified to get the PIN. You got in on Nov. 30, 2001. So I guess everyone has until Midnight tonight.

The X-plan pricing is 4% above the Ford Employee price (A-plan). On my '02 Screw it worked out to be about $500 BELOW dealer cost.

I don't know why it would not cover persons North of the border. If a dealer up there can get it they can sell it for X-plan pricing. I did read on the ford partner site that participation in the program is voluntary.

Well I have gotten replies from a few dealerships in town they do not honor the Xplan pricing on the SVT vehicles, but the prices they quoted me were at MSRP so atleast they aren't marking them up. I still have to wait on a few dealerships to email me back.
