Anyone have this problem with Stongard???

I've had Stongard on my fog lights for about two/three months and they seemed to have melted in the center. I called Stongard and they said that it was a problem with the fog light covers due to the bulb putting off to much heat. I had to leave a message with someone and they did not call me back so I sent an email stating my problem again. I am waiting on a response but wanted to know if anyone else has these covers and this problem.

Thanks
Damon

PS I am going to try to post some pics to show the problem

I had differant problems. This is part of the e-mail I sent them.
Just thought I would let you know that I asked you guys what part number would work for my 2001 Lightning. This is the number you said would work. Well the 2001 Lightning's driving lights are DIFFERENT that the 99/00's. They are more rounded than flat. Well my stonegard covers came off and did not stick properly because of the curved face on my 01. Can you give me a credit or refund my account.

That looks like it hurts, I guess I will just have to deal with cracked fog lights like the rest of us.

99BlkLitng,

You are not alone with this problem. Mine hasn't melted yet, they're just look burnt in the center (about the size of a dime). But at least they haven't cracked since I've had them on.

Ewww. I'd hardly call that a solution to the cracking fog lights problem. Good luck with it....

My Stonegards started coming off in a month and just had to peel them off because they got stiff as a board.

Mine only lasted a couple of weeks. I'm trying to get them to give me another set, but don't expect much help. I might try a set from xpel.

This is my response from Stongard. I guess i have to wait a little longer to see what they are going to do.

Damon - My name is Chad Hatfield. I have been advised of your problem and I am looking in to it. I am going out to the dealer today to compare our light product to the lights and see what may be causing the issue.

I put a set on the fogs six months ago. The only problem I had was when they shipped them one of them had hardly any glue on them. Would not stick. I called them up and they sent me two more in a couple of days. No charge. Bob.

This is what Stongard said:

"Damon - What I have found out at the delaer is the factory fog light burns at temperatures over 200 degrees. Our product is designed to withstand up to 200. When temperaturres reach over that it may cause the product to burn. What I suggest is that I can send you another set of light protectors or I can issue you a credit for the light and not to protect the light. Please let me know what you would like to do.

Thanks
Chad Hatfield"

I loved the covers but I was using the stock bulbs and this still happened, so I guess I will be looking for another type of fog light protector. Does anyone know of any other lense protectors?

Later
Damon
