Anyone using an egt!!!!

Once i do the bucket seat conversion i am ging to install an EGT gauge in it that has warning light.

Does anybody use one here??

What cylinder is best to drill and tap for the probe??

I know on my eclipse the max temp was 1400deg F but does it hold true for the lightning as well.

#5 Cylinder, front driver side, 1" from the head. and 1400 is a good number to avoid.

#8 cyl

I plan on using #8 cyl. it seems to be the one that runs the leanest.

#5 and #6 are the leanest cylinders on the truck according to Ford. Also every time I have pulled the plugs, (loss count now) they read as the leanest of all 8.

Lean?

On my motor when it went the ft plugs were ok as I got farther back the electrodes started getting deep into the pocelan[sp].So that is why I thought that the back cyl's were leaner.Stan
