Finally The True Blue!
Im not sure if I like the blue, I guess ill have to see it in person.
As for the computer, the 99 came with a CUX1 PCM. 00's come with a CUX2 PCM. 01's come with a CNX1 PCM. And the 02's will come with a CNX2 PCM I would guess.

I think that the blue looks too close to black but it is a different look for the Ls. It might look better in the sun. I would liked to have seen yellow as the new color, but I guess they are waitng for the big power increase for the introduction of the yellow L. On a final note: Some will like the blue and others will not, but at least it is a Lightning.

I personally like the deep wedgewood blue metallic. A guy at work has a reg cab with this paint scheme. The true blue on the stang makes it look even cheaper. I looked at a true blue Roush mustang at a dealership and wasn't impressed with the overall look. The ground effects and side pipes were cool but the color just didn't do it for me. The chebby blue on the Tahoe and Silverado looks pretty good too (not the vehicle, just the color).
How many Blue L's?
my $.02, Blue will be the most rare lightning color, likely to be produced only in 2002. Considering most popular vehicle colors are black, red, white, what better way to allow for reduction in production than scratch white and add blue.
Personally I would take any of the other available colors ahead of this blue, including the never produced yellow.
Anyone want to guess now how many Blue L's will be produced in 2002? My guess would be less than 750.

I don't think SVT has a thing to do with what colors are offered, I believe they are determined by body style. Here's why. I went to Ford's web site and tried to pick out a standard cab short bed and guess what-the only colors available matched the colors available for the L. Probably something to do with assembly plant or specific assembly line perhaps?

I can see i already...
Anyone remember many years back...
When Silver was introduced to the Lightning line up of colors? This was back in February of 2000. I think thats when the first ones hit the road. And it was a kill story. A damn good one.
I forgot who it was, but they were at a gas station filling up their silver Lightning, and low and behold; a kid in an S10 Extreme pulls up. Story went something like the kid was telling the guy that he had a fake Lightning and his Extreme would paste the crap out of it. Why? Because Ford didnt make a silver Lightning. They ended up catching a light together and the rest is history.
I can see many-a-stories like this happening because of this color. It sure would be nice to live that up again. But I'd rather keep my Black Lightning.
