Front Spring install....Advice, Tips?

I'm expecting my FRPP Drop Kit any day now!
I've done springs on several Mustangs but never on a truck. Can I expect the same procedure for the front springs on the L? What is the Cam Bolt kit used for that I keep hearing about? Is it similar to Caster/Camber plates? Shackles look to be a pretty "simple" install.........Any help is greatly appreciated.

The installation is basically the same except the trucks use an upper control arm rather than a modified strut like the Mustang. The easiest way to get em in is to disconnect the lower control arm balljoint from the spindle.

When installing coils I loosen all the control arm bolts to reload all of the bushings properly. You will most likely need the Camber/Caster plates to bring the alignment back into spec. You can get them from Ford directly or from NAPA which sells the kit. While you are in their already a set of Herbs control arm washers wouldnt be a bad idea ot get rid of that infamous "clunk". Just make sure the truck sits with the suspension parts loaded before tightning anything.

Peter:

Actually, if you put another jack under the lower arm, you can verify that there is no pressure on the spring by wiggling it.

Once it wiggles, pull the upper control arms loose.

Rich - better safe then sorry, especially if your one of those people that either has to break something or have something go terribly wrong before everything goes smooth and the way planned
