I got a set of heads off of a 1998 5.4, out of a truck...are these the same heads we have? Will they work if i swap out cams. I am thinking about taking these heads and having them ported, if they will work.

not positive but isn't it the 99+ heads are the "PI" heads which are better then the older ones?

Cool

HI!... 2KL : The "98" heads you have will technically bolt on but they are not thesame heads that you have currently. See in "99" FORD started using the 5.4 "P.I" heads, (POWER IMPROVED). The two heads look physically the same from their outward appearence but are no where close to being the same on the inside. The "P.I" heads have bigger intake/exhaust valves, reworked ports, and differently shaped intake ports. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the pre "99" heads, I have a set myself, along with 2 sets of "P.I" heads. It's just that the pre "99" heads don't flow as good as the "P.I" heads and the '98" heads you have, their intake ports won't match up to your current intake ports properly causing a ton of restriction and turbulence. If you would like pics of the two different heads side by side, ust E-MAIL me and I will send them to ya. E-mails in lower SIG.
