Talking Im almost there...

I can taste that twelve second run, its right on the tip of my tounge..... We finally got some good air here last night, it dropped down to about 50 degrees. Even though I was having traction problems all night, I managed to pull out two 13.0xx runs with a best of 13.066 @ 103 with a 1.88 60'
I couldnt get the ET Streets to hook good at all. I was lanching at about 1500 RPMS. On my last burnout, my truck started hopping for some reason. Does this mean that going through the water box would be best? I avoided the water box all night but I think I will give it a shot next time.
For you guys with ET Streets, do you go through the water box? What RPMS do you launch at, and what pressure do you run? I was running 16 psi. Also, I was doing my burnouts in 1st, is this correct?

Noooooooooo

burnouts in first. I did too until Sal corrected me. In first you will over-rev/hit the limiter but your tires won't be turning over fast enough--think about it. Do it in drive for 5-6 secs after driving around the water--the treads will still hold the water and you will be more liksly to spin. Some guys don't believe in even a 5 sec burnout on F1s-they won't get 'hot' like ET Streets and a 'dry' burnout is rough on the trans, converter, and drive train.

Btw, good times 1/4 and 60'.

Yes. Do your burnout in 1st gear. You just have to hold the r's at about 4000 or so. If you leave it drive, it wiil shift through the gares, bog down, and put a lot of stress on the higher gears of the transmission. Since your using ET Streets, I would suggest doing a wet burnout. I do this and have had no traction problems (see sig for times).

Thanks for the information guys. I was also wondering what pressure you guys run in the ET sreets and what RPMS you launch at. Also, isnt there a fear of the truck shifting to second if you do your burnout in Drive?
