reality1: I don't doubt that at all. The L is a helluva lot easier to drag race than a Z06. I do doubt the "very experienced racer" part. I know none of you care, but a slightly modded Z06 has ran an 11.8 and several bone stock Zs have run 12.2s. Yes, these times were run by guys with lots of practice on the drag strip. Speaking of times, here is a timeslip from a 2001 Z06 with an aftermarket filter being the only mod:

The point is, in my opinion, both cars/trucks kick a$$ and the L is easier to drag race with the average every day driver behind the wheel. Like I've said in the past, I've witnessed a few Zs running 14s and high 13s because the drivers couldn't control the car......

Zonaman,

How the heck are you. I thought we lost you for good once you parted with the 99 and went with the Z06. I did not know you own an 01 Lightning. So when did you pick up the 01? What color? Do you still have the Z06?

Look forward to seeing you again sometime.

Yes, I have a 2001 white L with Magnaflows, Alpine, MB Quart, MTX etc. Truck was my wife's, but she liked my C3 better (comfort wise) so I "traded" cars with her. I sold the Z06, but I do miss it. Great car, marginal seats, typical Detroit shift linkage, superb handling, braking and acceleration -- but for the money I can have an L and a Jetta TDI for the gas crunch that hasn't materialized --- yet??? Good to hear from you. I see that Yoda is up to his old tricks on the boulevard.

Best regards, Z
