Hmmmm. At least I was not bull ****ting. It is all Bons fault!!

I have known them to be pretty truthful. Their timing has been off on a few things. This may be one of them.

But I am glad they are here. They obviously love Fords and do a pretty descent job of finding things out some of which protect Ford owners.

Other than that I guess time will only tell.

If Ford is still trying to figure out where the internal "leaks" are coming from, the best way to do that would be to give out some false info to a few people and wait to see if it shows up on BON. Maybe that is what they are doing here. They could narrow it down that way and keep hype up about future products. Who knows.

Later,
Roger

Mmm, as nice as it would be, I also find in mildly frightening to give something as top-heavy as an expedition that much power. You think you see roll-overs now? hah!

Unless they planned on slamming it or making it two lanes wide, I'd be AFRAID to see them sell it to the general public, most people are to stupid to know how to drive a truck like that with proper care.

it is to have a complete independent rear suspension, have a lower center of gravity, and weigh 500 pounds less. Alan

this is what i got...

found out that there are two diffent prototype thunders out there. The newest one may be at the show just to kinda get a reaction to them. They won't be built anytime soon from what i've gathered from svt's statements. Too top heavy, and heavy period. Haven't found out whether they are 4x4 or not. There is a picture of the svt expy floating around on the net somewhere. I just can't immagine driving something of that stature....could get scary. if it's 4x4 especially. I would immagine they'd have to build them without it. Freaking transfer cases are pain in the *** enough, immagine with almost 400 hp behind them. Ouch!!!

The weight reduction is not only possible; but confirmed. It will weigh 5250 pounds vs. 5752 pounds on the current model. They are already built and will be out next summer. They will have the three valve per cylinder engine, possibly the Thunder option, and a much improved drag coefficient. Look at Blue oval news, Truck News. Alan

Just B/C it's on BON doesn't mean it will be built. It is all speculation on the Thunder! The one car we should be worried about meeting soon on the street or track is a Mustang.

It is faster then a stock 2001 Cobra 0-60mph and in the 1/4 mile from what I hear. That is all I can say!! If your Lightning is stock! Better ask Santa for a Chip, pulley and the best traction you can get.

No it's not the Terminator!

That is true. But when people start disputing facts such as weight reduction, etc., ignorance abounds here.

again...you are quoting BON as if it is the bible of Ford. They make mistakes...lots of em. I can guarantee you that some, if not all of what you have stated as fact above is without a doubt not true. Just chill and don't base your arguments on the BON, they are sketchy at best.
