I forgot who it was (lightninRod maybe) that posted the different pulleys and their respective rpm's compared to the factory Eaton's maximums?? Anybody saved this valuable info I also believe that the 3 and 4# pulleys are more than enough for the factory f1's and they can be good for mid 12's at the track and still maintain a descent ambiant air temp.I personally would run the higher pulleys on the track with dot's or slicks when traction and long term (I mean over 50,000 miles) blower integrity is NOT an issue.I think Sixpipes did a little research on this not too long ago.Lets not forget..more boost = a lot more heat = efficiency and power loss and the seasonal detonation.Something to think about.

I have had the 5# pulley, Diablo chip and filter kit on order for my 2001 L for about two weeks now from JL. I will let you know when I get it in and put on. I hope to get it soon, because the snow is going to fly here within a couple of weeks. I want to get a couple of test runs before I put it away. I figured alot of people are running lower pulleys and an upper so a 5# lower should be fine as long as the chip is burned for it, besides you are not running full boost all the time(although it would be fun to). I anyone has received their 5# pulley from JL please let me know.

Scott

I still don't understand why some of you guys care so much about your F1's hooking up with a 3lb pulley and not a 5lb pulley.

In my opinion that just means you NEED better tires!! Boost that blower!

RT,

Some of us don't feel the need to run drag tires to hook up on the street. Afterall, I drive ALOT more on the highway than at the strip. Plus the fact I don't want to be hesitant about matting it in traffic and it wanting to get sideways QUICKER than it does now.

BTW, not for nothin, but the F1 IS the best all round street tire for the lightning. I'm talkin about acceleration, lateral grip, wear and rain performance combination. It can't be beat.Yea, for straight lime performance there are better sneakers around , but they fall short in the "real world" perf. catagories.
