Oh the humanity!

With all the money I spend on my truck, and my desire to keep it beautiful, I went and I'm buying another car for "winter" driving.

I'm picking up a '92 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4... now the problem, got the mod bug from the truck, how does one prevent this from spreading to other vehicles? Before I go run out and buy a bigger turbo, etc, etc..

Ack!

Daniel

Daniel, you are not alone. I bought a 1989 Mazda Mx-6 turbo that i was gonna beat around.........yeah right.

Here is the list of mods i put in within 5 months of ownership

T3/T4 turbo E trim

Custom turbular header

High boost eliminator chip

Greddy blow off valve

Greddy boost controller

HKS intercooler pipe kit

Fidanza aluminum flywheel

Centerforce clutch

255 fuel pump

Cartech high boost regulator

BTW. i bought the car for 500 dollars with 116,000 on the clock....runs like a charm and bought another 88 model for spare parts!

That VR4 was limited edition vehicle back in the day.....it should have a build number on the dash......

Our 95 Thunderbird was very happy with it's 4.6L SOHC motor. Then we got the Lightning and began to modify it. Now we are building a blown Cobra motor for the Thunderbird. Once you get the bug, it will never go away.

Heheh, guess I'll have to get a second job then. Dosn't help the guy I'm buying from has friends in the biz that do DSM work and has a nice big list of "little things I can do to get it to about 300hp". Ha!

DL -- Cecil on Friday night would be a tough one for me. Takes me er, 2.5-3 hours to get down there from here... Anything going on over the weekend? (sat/sun) I can manage that.

humor me if you will

Daniel,

maybe you should have procured a Chebbie Citation/Pontiac Phoenix for winter flogging.

Just add a Flowmaster and appropriate "tip" and you'd be good to go...

Just watch those rear brakes....

Do what I did. By a car so plain that you can't possibly bring yourself to mod it. Something like a '91 Oldsmobile Delta 88 (Brougham of course!). I'll never do anything but put gas in it, and avert my eyes when people point and laugh.

Of course with a 3.8 L V-6, the turbo and intercooler from an '86 GN would bolt up nicely. Ah, dammit....

Talking

Heheh, glad to see I'm not alone.

My main goal was to get something with all-wheel-drive. I was going to lease a new car originally, figuring that if I wasn't going to keep it, why would I mod it? But then the offer on my friends VR-4 was too good. Its a turbo, AWD, AWS limited edition car. There are maybe 2000 on the road. They only made them in 91 and 92, (in Japan they still make them, its now twin-turbo)... heheh..

Fun. Of course...one other interesting thing...this will be my first MANUAL car... never owned one... lol

Pawn, no offense to you. This is MY OPINION on Mitsubishi, not you

I wouldn't buy a Mitsubishi if you hard a gun to my head.
They are war criminals. IMO - Buying a Mitsubishi is like spitting in the faces of the Vets that were killed and tortured working in the Mitsubishi labor camps in wwII. Yes it was a long time ago, however Mitsubishi is one of the companies that have never had to go on trail for their crimes against humanity.
