I have State Farm, full coverage, $250 deductible---$900 a year. It went up $50 a year going from my 99 F150 4x4 ORP to the Lightning.
We pay a total of about $2000 a year for the Lightning, wife's car, and my boat.

Y'all are gonna hate me.............My job pays for my insurance.....since I use it for work sometimes, I get to write it off as a contract car thru work, and they pay my insurance...

so the truck is mine, i pay it, they pay my insurance, i "agree" to use it as my work vehicle.....of course, i'll only end up driving it to work twice a week..........when I don't have to go in the field and meet contractors....

i love the savings..........it pays my gas!!!

:-)

I pay $2,328 a year.

Holy chit.........I would have never bought my L if I had to pay that much.

Mine is 800/year. Full coverage.

Joe

I'm getting the impression...

That some insurance companies aren't distinguishing a Lightening from a standard F150, thus the suprisingly low premiums.

Before buying, I asked them what a 4x2, flareside, F150 would be. First she said what trim level, XLT Lariat... $98/mo; no wait Lightning , $108/mo. They did rise cause of L but not much.

When I transferred insurance to my lightning, I gave then the vin# and told them it was an 2001 F150 Ford pickup. When my recieved my updated information, my truck was identified as a Ford SVT Lightning. I assuming they can determine this from the vin#

The reason their isn't a big difference is because L's are hardly ever stolen, and although they do have accident's, not more than any other car/truck. These are the type's of things insurance companies look at in your region, as well as driving record, and many other things.

Soap, I pay $2250/year for my 01 L , and consider that reasonable for where I live, and my driving record. Try getting insurance for a new BMW, or Benz around where I live, now were talking $$.

Talking

I pay $1700 a year for both my 01 Lightning and 99 Cobra, clean driving record since i was 17, good student discount, multi car discount....When I turn 25 in June the rates will be cut in half approx, and I live close to DC now....When I gave them the vin number, STate Farm just classifies the lightning as a F150 2 wheel drive xlt flareside....Thats why its cheap for me....The cobra on the other hand is listed as a "weekend" car, if that, and is still almost as much as the lightning for 6 months...ughh....Full coverage, 100/300, low deductibles....No claims either...
