Thumbs up Lightweight Fiberglass Rear springs

Hey,

Lighter weight, faster ET times...Yeah Boy!!!

Got this from NLOC thread...

Consistent 1.75 sixty foots on ET streets and with no stall converter. The truck rolls back and squats on a launch with the ride quality same as stock.

You can get them at the stock ride height or 2 inch lower. They come with polyurethane bushings and the main thing is that they only weigh 7 lbs compared to 48 lbs on the stock spring.

A weight savings of 82 lbs!!

They come to you ready to bolt in and it takes about an hour to change them out.

Call 864-332-5929

I don't know about the 60's.

1.75 is a good time, but where doing that with the stock setup and faster.

I like the weight saving Idea though. I could use it.

Bed capacity?

Do these springs lower the bed capacity at all? I frequnetly haul 600lbs, but I would love the weight saving for when the truck is empty...

Just my two cents but I saw these springs about three or four months ago ad I believe Metco is selling them. Stock height, two in. drop, and four in. drop. 600.00 or 800.00 and change I believe was the cost

They're $499 + shipping(lightweight), unless you live near South Carolina---then no shipping.

Hey Smok'n L,

I've never seen or heard about a shorter snorkel. Do a search for BaBolt under user name, shoot him an e-Mail, He may be able to help you with the snout. Also, you may want to start a thread to ask everyone if they could help.

Glad my bud could help you out about the drop..

later,
DL

Muscle Mustangs had to use a short straight snorkle for the Cervini's ram air hood that they put on their project L. I believe everything came as a kit. You might check with Cervini's and see if it is still available and if you can buy it separately.

Has anyone tried these springs yet? I saw a set at Fun Ford Dallas made by Metco, and they didn't look like they would be able to stand too many hard launches and the torque that these trucks put out.

Thumbs up

I haven't tried them personally.

Yes Metco makes them. I don't know how well they will hold up, they make other quality products also. Give them a call at the number posted in the first post..

They do have a 01 lightning that they race, so I guess they have put some time in the testing of them..

Cool Composite springs

Hey SVTBOY,

Mark here (LFP). Give me a call. I am also producing the same springs. My last set is headed to the west coast tomorrow. I will have more stock in shortly. I'll meet up with you in town and you can try a set out for yourself.

Metco Inc is owned by a High School and College friend of mine.
I believe he has recently sold the Metco-Motorsports division of the company, as the phone & address for Metco Inc and Metco-Motorsports are now different. Last time I saw him he mentioned this possiblity.
