It was great to see JL in a '01. Can't believe that Lenny's truck went a 12.15, it will be a 11 second truck in no time. Glad that Charlie's truck ran in the 11's.

I also ran a new best friday night at Cecil, a 12.39 at 109. Ran three 12.4's and one 12.3 it was great. The nice cold air worked great and with my ET Streets the traction was working.

Cool

I have to agree that the miles already on the truck plus the 6 miles to the track add up to all the break in you need.

Congrats on the new ride JL.

I'll be running this baby with all my mods this friday night! I hope i get atleast a low 12.. but a 11 sec. time slip would sure make me a happy camper! JL

Damn JL!! 13.2??!! Mine went 13.5 with a chip and filter already in it!! I feel so unworthy. Sounds like you already have a killer truck. With a few of your mods, 11's shouldnt be a problem for ya. Congrats on the new Lightning and those times!!

Shank, we just don't have the right temps and altitude around here. I was running 13.6's with chip and filter and just a couple weeks ago doing nothing different at all I caught the temps dipping into the high 40's as test and tune was ending around 11:30 and run back to back 13.32. The cool temps sure make a big difference.

JL, congrats on the new ride and the great times ! Don't forget about us '99 and '00 guys now that you've stepped up to a '01

Go Johnny go......

LOL.....sounds like you got another "screamer" right out of the box. I'm happy for ya man. Just back from the Indy SVTOA bash at Raceway Park. I'll post some details later.

We (Speedin Bob and I) really had fun blowing the doors off of the SVT Cobra's and Cobra "R's", both on the twisty 2.5 mile course, and on the 1/4 mile track.....more later.

Yes it was cecil. and yes it was 40* which helped alot. this may be streching it abit. but i had a full tank of gas (Gift from the dealer) the hitch was on and the spare tire. i just wonder if i removed the spare the hitch and had just 1/8 tank of gas if this baby would have run a 13.0 and just maybe touched a 12.99 i think it might have. but we'll never know. since were almost ready to see what we can do with all the mods on it...

Frank: Glad to hear you and speedy had a great time! I know you guys had to make for some interesting conversations amongst our brothers! (Mustangs & Cobras) JL

Johnny,

Saw this thread on Firday night but was took tuckered to respond coherently.

Congrads on the new L!! 24 hours and all you have left to do is X-pipe and Converter???? Give the tools and yourself a rest... What did you do, set your dinner plates on top the blower...hehe

Oh yeah, betcha didn't opt for an extened warranty either.

Frank, myself, and all the other Lightnings RULED the drag strip, both stock and modded. It was hilarious.

My 99 is out the door tomorrow. I spent all day stripping the truck on Sat. (thanks for the help JL and Rick) and I'll be picking up the new one tomorrow. I went with silver this time. I would love to get "hard to keep clean black", but I had all I can handle with my black Cobra. Silver is the fastest color anyway. I'll be heading to the track Friday completely stock to get a baseline run and then let the mods begin.

I wanted to go 11's in my 99. I was very, very close and I know I would've now the cooler weather has set in or if I let JL run it. Oh well, time for the 11sec '01.

Hey JL,

Congrats on the purchase of your new 01..I see you chose your favorite color in a L..That's the way a tuner should break a new truck in, straight from the dealer to the track..

I see 99svtlightning is going with the fastest color, at the moment, Right JL ...Congrats on the new truck 99svtlightning and the easier color to keep clean..Hope to see you post some high 12's Friday night with that new stock L...

Lenny's knocking on Charlie's door, Way to go JL, You got Lenny and Charlie running awesome...

JL, Hope you get that 11 second time slip in your new 01 this friday night.. Man I wish I lived closer to you guys..

Totaled coming up to race with you guys????

Cool

Hey DL,

I am going to VMP Friday night with some other Virginia L's to try and run a fast time at my home track as it is the last date for the season. If JL, Eric and crew are going to Cecil Saturday I might be tempted to drive on up Can you make it Saturday?
