Lightning Recall
Lightning Recall
Just got my L back from the dealer for the intercooler recall and i told them to fix the clunking in the front when you turn the wheel (some of you said there was a recall for it). They said the clunking was normal for the lightnings and that if there was a recall fir it that they did it. What my question is what recalls are there for the 1999 lightning?
What the hell is a TSB? I know it is a tempory service bulletin or something like that. What does that mean? Will the dealer fix it if it is still under warrenty?
EEEEEEEK!
Spank':
I have an easy two-step solution for you, as follows:
1) Fix the clunk yourself. It's not difficult. See my epistle (use the search function) on this topic posted a few months ago.
2) Find yourself another dealer. Your current one is obviously staffed by a bunch of incompetent chimps.
The next time something breaks, or if you think something has broken, refer to step #1. This will save you a lot of heartache. Trust me. If you plan to rely on your dealer for ANYTHING, you're in for a steaming heap of unpleasantness. A sea of greasy incompetent morons, who don't give a rat's azz about your prized vehicle.
If you don't know about basic mechanical repairs, teach yourself immediately.
If you don't have the proper tools, buy them immediately.
Unfortunately, if something sophistocated (read - "computer-related") breaks, you're SOL. Hence, step #2.

Looks like they are calling it a recall. Even the media has called it a recall on the evening news.
