Wahooo! -Test drive

Went with my cousin to test drive an L today!

Was a 01' White L, sittin on the lot with 19 miles on it. Man, what a smoooth truck!

The part when he said "Dont be afraid to get on it" is when we started. Got on the on ramp, and slowed to 20..keep in mind this is a long ramp! Nailed the gas, and man did this truck TAKE OFF! The tires chirped and off we went! Never felt a thrust like this before...WOW! Tires chirped on the 1-2 shift, and kept us pinned into our seats till we hit 110mph and closing in on a mustangs bumper....

Needless to say my cousin is purchasing an L sometime this or next month, and Ill be at his house everyday!

my 'test' drive

was for only about 4 miles--never took it above 60 mph-no 'hard' launches--Mondo 1 was flying in(to Atlanta) from Miami to pick up 'his' 01 red L--the one I got to 'test' drive--went easy on it for him. Ordered my silver one right then!

Ah .. I think we are just grinning to our selves as we remember our first time. My wife made a profound statement that day when we made the 2-3 shift. She said “ S$it, this damn truck may out run my Bird (2000 Ram Air Firebird ). I just grinned from ear to ear and said “So, we will just take it home and find out in a few thousand miles”.

Ummmm, when i floor my 01 from 20, my tires dont chirp, and i never have heard the wheels chips on the 1-2,, are some just different, dont get me wrong, i can gun it from a stop and the tires brake loose and sometimes im in the other lane by the time they stop spinning,,, should my truck really be chirping at the 1-2 shift?

Most don't without a chip or shift kit.

I got them to chirp in nd for the first time today. I pulled up next to my buddy with a camaro RS, and gunned it at about 10 mph, left some rubber there, and then again in he 1-2 shift. Maybe I will be able to do it whenever I want once i get closer to at least 2,000 miles, i only got 750 right now.

Don't worry about the chirp or not being able to turn em over now. At about 2,000 to 3,000 miles you will have a whole different L.
