Mini-Me

After a very long search, I've found what I've been looking for a 1987 Yamaha YSR50. These are very hard to find around here and this one is in very good condition. These were only made from 1987-1992 and were 1/2 scale to the larger Yamaha YZR race bikes. With its stock 50cc motor they were capable of doing 50mph but this one has been modified by the previous owner to do 80mph, with a larger Mikuni carb & K&N cone filter, spark boost pack, and a few other mods. Man these little pocket rockets are loads of fun but going 80mph in a bike only 36" high is alittle scary.

Here is my 8 yr old nephew taking a little spin on the bike.

He can ride almost anything.

Sorry if I offended you but if you don't have anything nice to say why even post.

I know my '87 YSR50 may not give you a woody but if you know anything about motorcycles, they are collector items and cost more now than they were new back in '87. I can't say it will happen the same to my 01 red L, since Ford keeps on building more and more L's every year. I would like to apologis to the fellow L owners here for what I'm about to say but this guy needs to wake up from his tunnel vision dream. Don't get me wrong I love my Lightning but sometimes you need to experience speed in other vehicles and excercise your other senses. Going fast in a straight line is exhilarating, I know this very well cause I've done it too many times in my L, but you need to step out of your L and exercise your other body parts by going at the same speed through tight corners. Why don't you come over here and take a ride in my buddy's go-cart, which might look like a toy to your untrained eyed, but siting 1" off the ground at 80mph through the tight corners might change your mind.

Here's the break you wanted, the sight of the brake lights that is as I disappear away from you:

only one time before did i not make the turn and hit a tree doing 75.

were not trying to be a holes here.

its just hilarious some guy posting some pics of his new 1987 motorcycle that goes an extreme 80mph.
sorry its just hilarious.

That's a cool little bike. I wish I had one for running around at the track.

I too think that little bike is cool! (At least this thread won't turn into a 'tuner war').

Smile I hate adding to this thread, but...

Yes, the bike is cool. I ride and know how rare it is to find one in that condition. HOWEVER, this is a board for discussing LIGHTNINGS. I'd love to hear all about your bike somewhere else though!

There was a motorcycles dealer by my house that had one of those bikes on display. He said it was not for sale, and he would want too much for it anyways. I was gonna buy a Smokin Joe, but the parents said no

I like it. I'm not a motorcycle kinda guy, but it's a pretty cool novelty item. I'm curious though, how much are they?
