Cool Keypad Conversion

I saw some mention of a Keypad Lock Conversion for an F-150.

Does anyone know who offers a kit for a 2001 Lightning?

Thanks Doug!

I have a 2001 so I am hoping the harness is in there. I will get the parts and do it when I install my new stereo speakers.

I don't understand why this is not on all Fords. I have had the truck for two weeks and locked my keys in it twice already. My 2000 Expedition has it.

Thanks again,

Rob

I always use the keyless entry remote to lock my doors everytime I get out, making it almost impossible to lock my keys in.

My 01' has it.

The wiring harness to connect the keypad to is right above your driver side speaker. The PATS module is under the dash near the steering wheel, it's white/beige colored and has a 5 digit number on it that is your number to open it.

Check out www.svtlightnings.com and look in the how to section.

YL3Z14A626AA - is the Ford part number for the keypad

you just gotta find the part number for the door handle to your L's color

Finally got my key pad in today. Second try. Nobody mentioned about the hack saw work to make the handle fit around the window channel. Some of the handles are coming through with out the notch. Also, got the panel back on and saw that I had forgotten the curtousy light. Any way it works and I'm happy!

I updated the How to to show the Modificatioin of the bracket a few weeks ago.

The mod is so easy I could do it in 30 minutes with a decent cutting wheel on my dremel. Biggest hints.... Pull the window channel out of the way by unbolting it from the bottom. And undo the clip that holds the lock rod so you can easily get to the left nut...

What are you guys hacksawing/cutting. I didn't need to cut anything when I did this mod to 3 different trucks? Just curious..

Here is a side by side from the how to. The new part doesnt fit a 2000 with the counter weights and the full bracket

The on the right is the stocker and the left is the one with keypad hole with the counterweights driled off but the bracket not yet modified.

Thanks for the update.. What was/is the purpose of those weights anyway? Everyone that I have installed mine/friends have worked fine.
Thanks again.

What is the approximate cost of this mod...new door handle and keypad? What are the part numbers for a silver handle for a 2001 L? Thanks.
