My experience

Y'all... I did this mod a few weeks ago and had the problem with the weights also... figured it our myself and swapped them between the two units and has been working great since.

The only thing I wish I would have known was how to easily remove the clasp that hold the door lock mechanism... I about killed my fingers trying to get the darned thing to release!!!

Finnaly... I used the box end of my 10mm wrench and it popped off with no problem... I strugled with this for at least 30 minutes before trying the wrench. Since then, I took it apart two more times before I decided the weights were part of my problem.

Oh yeah, I've never locked my keys in the car before or after this mod. I also have a 93 SHO and have left the key in the ignition from day one (don't like to carry keys) and have always used the keypad or the remote. My ignition key is not on a key ring with other keys and the key is black, as is the switch and people don't ever see it.

Of course I am not doing that with my "L" yet and seeing how my SHO is getting up there in the years... I wouldn't mind it if it were missing some morning (just kidding).

Contact:

http://www.fordpartsonline.com/ or Gary at (805) 466-9464

Cost was just over a hundred bucks, including shipping from CA to MA!

You don't need no stinkin' part number - Gary has them all . . . and if you follow the instruction on line you can't go wrong!
