Angry The $1600 mistake

I whacked a curb with both driver's side tires. Blew out both sidewalls, and tore the hell out of the wheels, after driving the truck 1/2 block to get out of traffic.

Of course, I have to buy all four tires, and I may as well get the other two rims new, too. Damn. I had better things to spend $1600 bucks on.

Hey, if you're that far in cash-wise you may as well get a whole new truck. Makes good economic sense. Don't argue. Do it.

Wayne,

It fell through. Trade-in on the '99s sucks. Dealers act like they don't want 'em on the lot, and I don't want to screw with selling it on my own.

I've only got 12,000 miles on the '99, and it wasn't worth the difference for the trade-in. If I hadn't paid list for the thing when I bought it, it wouldn't be so bad.

I'm just going to pay the '99 off early, and see what comes with the next gen.

BTW, I still owe you the beer. I'll be in touch soon.

Try Diversified Products Marketing (www.buyfordmotorsport.com) for the real SVT wheels. I think they're about $170.00 each + shipping. If you're going to buy wheels and tires, get ahold of The Tire Rack (www.tirerack.com). They will mount, balance, and ship for cheaper than you'll find anywhere else.

<Insert Standard Disclaimer Here>...just a satisfied customer of both places.

LightninRod,

A lot of guys, including myself, run American Racing Baja's most of the time with M/T Street ET's on the back. That may be changing soon, because a lot of us will be going to 15" in the rear, so I need to find some matching 15" aluminum rims that will fit.
