I also have a problem with hooking up off the line. sometimes it is okay and sometimes I spin sideways. it is frustrating. When everything goes well, I can run pretty well 8.2s 1/8th. I even beat my buddies 2001 s281 saleen mustang. but the, just last night, I got killed by a new trans am ram air. any tips on how not to spin?

 

Buddy in the warmer months I can hook all night long but with this cooler stuff blowing in, I was blowing the tires off even if I tried to ease of the line. I bought a nice bed cover with a shipping weight of around 175 lbs my 60' got much better and I'm running better times than I ever have. On the warmer days now I don't take the time to remove the bed cover I just drop the spare tire and hitch and run like that. I also launch out at around 800rpms and no more then 1000, this has helped me and a good friend of mine with a Silver L more than anything all you hear is a chirp off the line. Good Luck

I got the same problem. I get up to the line, get all excited and then screw up the launch.

 

mine hooks-up-and-goes. i have never had that problem for some reason. i was at the track tonight and with a little burnout i pull up to the line and stomp on it when the little turns green. i love the old gears.
