The Pro-Sport lightning tonneau????

I am just about settled on this cover for my 01L - as soon as i can find a dealer locally.

I do have a few questions for owners of this lid, there site does not provide much info.

1. how is the paint quality?
2. is the any permanant mods to the bed (drilling for hinges)?
3. how do they hook up the 3rd brakelight?
4. how much did you pay for it?

Thanks,
Bob

I've had mine about 2 weeks now, and it looks great!

1. As far as I can tell, it looks and feels like they did a great job. No bubbles, good coverage, etc.
2. There were 2 L brackets installed, and a piece that went on top of the bulkhead. Also 2 brackets for the locks.
3. They stopped doing the 3rd brake light a few months back (at least that is what they told me). I guess there was a lot of problems with the light falling out/breaking/etc. They said that they could probably add it if you *really* wanted one, but for me I like it better without the light.
4. $899 plus tax

hope this helps...

The only problem is there are no dealers in the east. You'll have to have one shipped which adds to the price. Then you'll have to install it yourself. - Bob

A word of caution to anyone considering a Pro Sport lid. The lid on my L, and several others that I have seen, rub the paint off of the tailgate!!! I have adjusted and readjusted the lid 'till I am blue-in-the-face, and it STILL rubs the paint off of the tailgate!

My Pro Sport did have a paint flaw from the factory. They were very accomidating and paid my local body shop to repair it. Great customer support in my book!

Later,
Jake...
