Hotchkis Problem - Suggestions?

Installed the rear leafs, front coils, bushings, herbs washers, napa cam bolt kit, and sway bar kit. When the wheels are cranked to the left, they contact the ABS sensor bracket bolt.......Anyone ever encounter this? I thougt after the alignment the clearance issue wouldnt be as such, however the bolt to wheel clearance remains a problem.

Any ideas?

The only way to maybe resolve the problem would be to maybe installed a rivet in the bracket instead of the bolt?

Thanks
Anthony

I have the Hotchkis kit still in the front and will take a look. Which side is the problem when the wheels are cranked to the left?

I have other photos on a different computer (400 miles away). I'll post them later if you want.

Same setup on my truck with no problems. I will check it at full lock and see.

Thanks guys for your input....and the pics. I went over everything about three times making sure the springs were seated properly and made sure the sleeves for the bushings did not move when i changed them. The only thing i can think of is the steering gear possibly having a bit more throw to one side? It is only a slight rub which occurs at the full stop. Other then that, the truck handles absolutely awesome.....nice and tight and much more predictable.....Definately worth the time and money.

BTW...I called Hotchkis on the issue and still waiting for a response. I had the truck for 6 months and has only 1,600 on the clock and am not sure if the wheel might have been rubbing before the install and lowering it might have aggravated it?

Smokn - It is the 1 / 2 drop.

Hey Nos,
How was the bushing install? Kind of a pain but worth it I think.

I just checked mine out turned to both way to the stops and didn't hear any noises. I don't know what to say to help you out.

A Pain? Pain in the *** is more like it

I avoided using the torch and used a drill press instead. I initially tried to press them out with no success and anymore pressure and the sleeves would have moved. I had two buddies hold the control arm with the aid of a vise and slowly started to chip em out......slow process but using care was of utmost importance. These were by far the worst bushings to remove.....probably because they were really new and still fairly tight. The bushings themselves fit flawlessly and would recommend it for the "true" road racing fan who wants full performance out of their suspension.

Thanks for the info and pics when you did it Silver-Bolt.....

Thanks Don C.....I'll see what Hotchkis says tommorow...I don't know this is really stumping me as most of you that have the same kit did not encounter this problem. The alignment results appear to be somewhat dead on to specs and the truck drives as straight as an arrow.

Possible steering gear problem

Defective control arm

Either something is really defective or I am overlooking something stupid....but i doubt it.

Update

Hotchkis had nothing to say.......I switched the ABS sensor wire bracket to the inside of the control arm.....problem solved. Absoluely no interference now when at full lock.

Thanks again people for your help.....

NOS - at least you go it fixed. I checked mine out tonight and everything looks just likes Spike's pictures. I haven't noticed or heard any rubbing cause by the hotchkis springs.
