I FINALLY got it loose!
This thing hauls...the boost gauge is pegged at a 45 degree angle past the 10 mark!
Only problem is that it is now making a wierd noise at WOT.
It sounds like sand going through the intake? What could cause this? spark knock?

Could be running lean. If you didn't get a chip or a reburn with it, you need to.

almost definitely detonation... did you get a chip reburn yet? Same thing happened to me, no problems before the pulley, but without a reburn I was getting detonation really bad at high RPM.

JeffsLightning,

I went from a 2# to a JL 4#, with cooler air and with my chip programmed to compensate for the larger pulley, I got over .2 and over 3 mph improvement in the 1/4.

I would go with the #4. Boost incrementally raises with the rpm so if your just putting around it will be mostly the same. With the #4 compared to stock, boost seems to come on quicker with the #4 though but that just adds to the engines efficency right?

01LighninBolt,

It's nothing like a few tense moments to make the reward much more special. Yeah, I didn't know the stock gauge would go that far without stopping.

JeffsLightning,

Sorry for the delayed response. I would definitely go with the 4#. I have noticed a considerable amount of pulling power in lower rpms (say below 2500 rpm). This keeps you from having to downshift for more power - more efficient. Also, if you are worried about spinning the blower too fast, just remember you are only at your shift point for a split second if you are winding it out. Or you can just have your tuner lower the shift points. Hope this helps.
