i have heard good things about the mass air sensor
but i have no idea which one to get, got any ideas

If I read your profile correctly you have a 2001, is this correct?

If it is true you allready have a 90 MM Mass Air Meter, so don't mess with it.

The guys changing Mass air meters are the 99 and 2000 Lightnings who have 80 mm mass air, and they are putting on what you allready have.

And... most '01 L owners are just using the stock mass air and getting one of the many filter kits available that just bolt up to it.
